Voice and Speaking: Developing Confidence and Presence
Whether carrying on a conversation or giving a presentation – audiences are better able to absorb complex information when it’s delivered in a verbally and vocally effective way. This workshop gives participants the chance to discover their own vocal and verbal capabilities and develops a foundation for independent work on the topic. Participants will practice the basics of confident speaking, using breathing exercises, exercises for more precise articulation, and voice training.
The methods used in the workshop come from TV and theatre training. Participants will practice partner-oriented speaking and speaking in an easily understandable way. The goal is a way of speaking that unites the best of content, voice, and manner. Participants will gain more confidence in their rhetorical, vocal, and verbal skills, and thus be able to reach their audience or conversation partners more effectively.
