The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) has published an outcomes report marking the conclusion of the 2022–2025 reporting cycle — the first since the Research-Oriented Gender Equality and Diversity Standards (FOGD) were expanded to include the dimension of diversity. As part of their voluntary commitment to the FOGD, member universities submitted reports at the end of 2024 setting out their goals, strategies, measures and new areas of action. On this basis, a workshop of university leaderships took place on 25 June 2025 in Frankfurt am Main, bringing together institutional representatives for collegial exchange on equality and diversity strategies.
Discussions covered the development of existing approaches, emerging challenges, resilience against attacks on gender equality and diversity work, and good-practice examples from across institutions. The outcomes of the workshop and a summary of the institutional reports are now publicly available. A new reporting cycle is planned for 2026–2028.
