In this online event, Dr Lena Eckert, scholar, author and co-founder of the network Mutterschaft und Wissenschaft, and Louisa Kamrath, co-author of both publications, read from the books “Mutterschaft und Wissenschaft. Die (Un-)Vereinbarkeit von Mutterbild und wissenschaftlicher Tätigkeit” and “Mutterschaft und Wissenschaft in der Pandemie. (Un-)Vereinbarkeit zwischen Kindern, Care und Krise”.
The readings focus on the structural and personal tensions between academic work, care responsibilities and dominant images of motherhood, with particular attention to the experiences of mothers in academia before and during the pandemic.
The event takes place online via Zoom. Registration is required by email in order to receive the access details.
