The Margherita von Brentano Center for Gender Studies (MvBZ) warmly invites its members to the second members’ assembly, taking place on 19 January 2026 at Freie Universität Berlin. The meeting offers an opportunity for exchange among members of the centre.
From 6:00 pm onwards, the members’ assembly will be followed by a New Year’s reception featuring a panel discussion on “Epistemic Struggles: Gender Studies between Critique and Canon”. The discussion brings together Dr Denise Bergold-Caldwell (Europa-Universität Flensburg) and Dr Katharina Hoppe (Goethe University Frankfurt am Main), and will be moderated by Prof. Dr Gülay Çağlar, Academic Director of the MvBZ.
The subsequent reception provides space for informal exchange over drinks and snacks. Registration is required for participation in the members’ assembly and/or the panel discussion. Researchers at Freie Universität Berlin are also invited to become members of the MvBZ in order to engage in ongoing exchange and research-oriented networking within the field of gender studies.
