At the start of 2026, the Berlin Institute of Health partnered with Dragonfly Mental Health, a nonprofit dedicated to cultivating excellent mental health among academics worldwide, to form a Mental Health Culture Committee at BIH. As part of this initiative, BIH launched a regular monthly online talk series covering topics including mental health literacy, depression, burnout, power abuse in academia, impostor phenomenon and neurodiversity.

This session addresses the basics of the imposter phenomenon, including its prevalence in academia, common symptoms, and underlying causes. It also explores how self-doubt and fear of being exposed as a fraud can affect mental well-being, and presents possible strategies for managing these experiences.

All BIH members are invited to join.
