Further information
FUTURA is a qualification and professionalisation programme for gender equality practitioners at universities and research institutions, with a particular focus on central and decentralised women’s and equality officers. The programme is offered by the team geschlechter*gerecht in cooperation with the Weiterbildungszentrum of Freie Universität Berlin.
The programme comprises four modules delivered over two years: Module I covers the foundations of equality work (summer semester 2026); Module II addresses law and personnel matters (winter semester 2026/2027); Module III focuses on counselling and conflict resolution (summer semester 2027); and Module IV covers governance and public relations (winter semester 2027/2028). Each module spans one semester and includes two training sessions of approximately one and a half to two days each. Participants can choose between in-person and online formats and may enrol in the full programme or book individual modules or sessions.
Graduates of the full programme receive the certificate “FUTURA – genderkompetentes Handeln im Beruf.” Registration is open now. An introductory session for participants takes place on 22 April 2026, with the first workshops beginning in early June 2026.
