This online circle brings together single mothers in academia to share experiences, challenges and strategies around balancing a scientific career, care work and single parenting. The aim is to create visibility and a space for networking and mutual support.
Dr. Elisa-Maria Hiemer (Freie Universität Berlin), Dr. Sinah Kloß (Universität Bonn) and Dr. Christiane Brenner will share perspectives from their own paths between care and career, offering insights into their professional and personal lives. Dr. Elisa-Maria Hiemer, founder of the network Single Parents in Academia, will also give a short input on the topic.
The circle is part of the online circle series at the network “Mutterschaft und Wissenschaft”. Building on this exchange, the aim is to establish a longer-term thematic group to continue the conversation, make shared concerns visible and strengthen networking among single mothers in academia.
