Further information
Berlin invites to a celebratory evening at HAU Hebbel am Ufer. The event concludes the ring lecture series “Geschlecht denken. Kritische Ontologien der Gegenwart”, which brought together interdisciplinary perspectives from gender and queer studies, feminist theory, critical research on racism and masculinity, and political and artistic practice to examine contemporary gender relations.
The anniversary celebration takes place across the stage, foyer and bar, and is held as a charity gala in support of the joint archive centre of FFBIZ, Spinnboden and the Magnus Hirschfeld Society. The aim is to strengthen the visibility and future of feminist knowledge and memory practices.
On stage, the text cycle “Im Schatten der Präsenz” will be presented — a multi-voiced poetic project addressing invisibility, disruption and resistance, and asking who is allowed to speak and how presence emerges where it is not expected. The texts by Sabine Hark are based on her book “Gemeinschaft der Ungewählten” (2021) and are translated into aesthetic, musical and performative forms, with music composed by Lisa Hoppe. The evening invites participants to celebrate, listen, support and come together in solidarity.
