The Equal Care Day Festival 2026 takes place online on 1 March 2026 and invites everyone involved in care work to come together in a shared virtual Care Landscape. The festival offers a space for networking, discussion, and collective reflection on the societal relevance of care work across the life course.
Participants can join a variety of formats, including stage inputs, discussion rounds, and networking opportunities. The programme focuses on exchange among people who carry out care work and addresses topics such as care and mental load, young carers, equal parenthood, and care-related financial responsibilities. A central element of the festival is the barcamp format, which enables parallel discussions and encounters in virtual spaces.
The festival is organised by the Equal Care Day Initiative / klische*esc e.V. and marks ten years of Equal Care Day. It brings together people affected by care work, activists, researchers, and allies to strengthen dialogue and support collective engagement for greater recognition and structural change.
