The Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin positions itself as a space where a culture of respect and diversity is actively lived. As a university committed to equality of opportunity, it strives to maintain a study, teaching, research and working environment that is inclusive and as free from discrimination as possible for all members of its community.

The Protection Concept against sexual harassment, discrimination and violence defines how HU handles such cases and explains clearly and transparently which steps the university can take and how those affected can receive support. It emphasises the importance of attentive, proactive and decisive action across the entire institution—from university leadership to every member of the HU community.

The Protection Concept complements the new Statute for the Protection Against Sexual Harassment, Sexualised Discrimination and Violence, including stalking, which has been in effect at HU since 9 January 2025.
