Further information
The programme “Leadership in Science” supports professors and junior research group leaders at the Berlin University Alliance partner institutions in developing their leadership competencies for academic contexts. Through interactive, research-informed workshops in small groups, participants reflect on their leadership roles and strengthen practical skills for leading teams in multifaceted university environments.
The full-day workshop “Leadership in Science: Introduction” on 5 March 2026 at Freie Universität Berlin addresses core principles of academic leadership, including goal-setting, expectation management, leadership theories, and transformational leadership. The half-day follow up workshop on 6 March 2026 deepens selected topics and focuses on professional communication and staff selection. The follow-up is open to participants who have previously attended the introductory course.
Participation is free of charge. Registration is required and places are limited to 12 participants per workshop.
