Further information
Young Entrepreneurs in Science is a training programme in workshop format and is targeted at PhD students in Germany from all fields of study. The initiative, which was developed in collaboration with partners inside and outside of academia, aims to promote entrepreneurial competencies and to develop start-up culture and entrepreneurship as early as possible among young researchers.
The goal of the programme is to steer the expert knowledge of highly qualified young scientists in the direction of entrepreneurship. But entrepreneurship doesn’t start with a business plan. It’s much more about questions like, “What would happen if you had to live from your dissertation topic?” The workshops will place an emphasis on practical experience and interaction, as well as conveying concrete tools and methods. The involvement of innovation-oriented businesses and personal contact with founders will enable participants to witness firsthand the opportunities and challenges of self-employed.
