The Harriet Taylor Mill Institute (HTMI) of the HWR Berlin invites you to the second digital HTMI Brown Bag Seminar. The HTMI Brown Bag Seminar is an irregular event that discusses contributions from recent publications with issues that are relevant to the thematic spectrum of economics, administration, law and gender. This time, the focus will be on increasing the female share while taking a critical look at whether mentoring is actually the suitable measure to do that.

At this event it will be discussed how the percentage of women in Germany’s IT companies can be sustainably increased. This is also meant in regard to counteracting  the reproduction of gender-specific discrimination in the industry while becoming more inclusive overall. The following questions arise as to whether mentoring programs can be a key to increasing the female share: To what extent can inequalities in heteronormative working environments be reduced with the help of mentoring and what transformation processes are possible through mentoring? Which organisational factors form barriers? What opportunities are opened up by innovations within mentoring research?

After a brief presentation of the content of the topic by Lily Dausch, research associate at HTMI, you are very welcome to join in the discussion.
