The Caroline von Humboldt Award is bestowed upon an excellent woman post-doc. It has been awarded annually since 2010 and is one of the highest-endowed prizes of its kind in Germany. The prize money is intended to be used for a research project conducted at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and for the award winner to become a scientist in residence at HU.
The award is designed to offer sustainable support to exceptional, international female scientists active in any field of research and to provide more recognition for the outstanding achievements of women in science.
The Caroline von Humboldt Professorship is awarded to excellent female professors of all disciplines at HU who hold permanent positions at the Humboldt Universität and who distinguish themselves by their international reputation, the relevance of their research results beyond their own discipline, and their outstanding publication activity.
The professorship is associated with a one-year financial support of 80,000 euros, which can be used flexibly as support for the further career, especially as start-up funding for a research project (material resources, personnel, etc.). Proposals from all disciplines will be considered. The nomination for the professorship can be made by the deans, the institute directors, as well as other members of Humboldt-Universität.
