Universities of Applied Sciences (HAW) are urgently looking for qualified female applicants for professorships. This is a major challenge, especially in the natural sciences and technical disciplines.
Over the next five years, around 60 professorships will need to be filled at the BHT and around 100 more at the HWR and HTW.
As part of a cooperative event, the Central Women’s and Equal Opportunities Officers of the three universities, together with female professors, therefore want to familiarise qualified young female academics with the profession of university lecturer and show them the path to a successful appointment.
The aim is to clarify the following questions:
- What qualification requirements must be met?
- How does an appointment procedure work?
- What duties and freedoms are associated with a HAW professorship?
- What is meant by practical experience?
- How important are university didactic skills?
