In many ways the inequality of caregivers became more palpable through the pandemic. However the underlying problems have been present all along and there are many qualified forces tackling these issues.
One of these voices is Isabel Torres from the organization Mothers in Science.
Mothers in Science is an international non-profit organization that advocates for mothers and other caregivers in STEMM (Science Technology Engineering Medicine Mathematics) to increase retention of women in STEMM careers. It has united individuals and organisations from all around the world with a common goal—to demand our leaders for immediate action to support mothers in science and enact policies to eliminate systemic inequities and increase retention of women in STEMM fields. Isabel and her colleagues have created an action plan outlining a set of specific and actionable strategies to promote inclusion of caregivers and close the gender gap in research funding.
In this Online Circle, Isabel will present and discuss the action plan with the participants.
