The KFH (Commission for a Family-Friendly University) calls for applications for funding from the HU Family Fund until October 02, 2024 – the aim of the funding allocation is to overcome structural barriers to the compatibility of family with studies, work and academic career at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Final scholarships can be started continuously from November 2024 (or after funding approval).
Final scholarships for scientifically outstanding doctoral and postdoctoral students of the HU in financial need, insofar as the completion of their qualifications cannot be achieved within the designated time for family reasons and, in the case of HU employees, there is no longer any possibility of employment under the WissZeitVG, even taking into account the family circumstances.
This funding covers a maximum period of six months plus a maximum of three months until the defense. The amount of the scholarship is € 1,365 (doctoral candidates) or € 1,500 (postdoctoral candidates) per month. The monthly family allowance is €400 for the first child and €100 for each additional child.
Eligible to apply:
Doctoral and post-doctoral students of the HU with and without previous employment at the HU. Excluded are applicants who have already received or are receiving a final grant for their doctorate or habilitation from another position within or outside the HU beyond the regular maximum funding period. In addition, the fellowship cannot be associated with an employment position within or outside HU.
