On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Central Women’s Representative invites you to this year’s Women’s Assembly. The event will be opened by the president of the university. The main event is a panel discussion with Prof. Dr. h.c. Jutta Allmendinger (president of the Berlin Social Science Center), PD Dr. Franziska Emmerling (department leader at the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing), and Dr. Sybille Jung (board member at bukof, Bundeskonferenz der Frauen- und Gleichstellungsbeauftragten an Hochschulen). The starting point of the discussion is the proposition that the corona crisis has amplified traditional gender roles and led to a step backwards for gender equality in academia and at institutions of higher education.

After the panel discussion, participants are warmly invited to come into conversation with each other as part of a ‘Virtual Get-Together’.

All women can participate in the event. According to § 17 (5) Landesgleichstellungsgesetz and § 19 (9) of the Frauenförderrichtlinien of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, women are entitled to be released from work for the event.
