Science communication is becoming increasingly diverse in terms of its formats, from science slams to science festivals, from evening lectures to dialogue workshops. But does this diversity also apply to the people involved? Doesn’t science communication often only reach people who are already interested? The typical formats of science communication often fail to reach a number of social groups in a number of places. The barriers and levels of discrimination can be very different.

This event is part of the BIH Diversity Month 2025. This year, a whole month will be dedicated to diversity, equality and, in particular, inclusion. The aim is not only to raise awareness of existing inequalities, but also to work actively to reduce them.

The Diversity Month programme offers a range of inspiring events in a variety of formats – from interactive workshops and social activities to scientific lectures.  This year’s focus is on inclusion. Other important areas will be highlighted as appropriate at a later date.

The events will be held in German and/or English and will be available in face-to-face, online and hybrid formats.
