In the workshop, Dr Daniela Heitzmann will provide an insight into how appointment procedures can be designed in a diversity-friendly way. Based on the current state of research, those procedural steps will be identified in which implicit/unconscious bias (‘unconscious thought patterns’) often play a role due to gender and various diversity dimensions, and options for action will be presented to counter these bias effects.

In joint discussions, possible spaces for alliances and solidarity-based action between equality and diversity actors will be discussed.

Subsequently, the topic of ‘tendering and evaluation criteria’ will be examined in depth with regard to diversity-related aspects.

In-depth prior knowledge or experience in supporting appointment procedures is not required. LakoF Berlin offers a preparatory meeting for all interested parties to familiarise themselves with the process and the legal basis of the procedures (date to be announced).
