Networking and Additional Conference Visits
Equal opportunity funds may be used to sponsor networking events and additional conference visits for female researchers. These initiatives aim to foster beneficial collaborations and ultimately support the career development of female researchers. Any additional conference visits must go beyond those already planned as part of the project or those considered customary and necessary from a subject-specific point of view. Such regular conference visits should be financed through the allocated travel funds for this purpose.
When using the DFG’s Standard Allowance for Equal Opportunity Measures to fund additional conference visits for female researchers, it is advised to provide the following documentation :
- Evidence that the researcher has presented her work at regular conferences, such as a list of events attended, funded by travel funds.
- For each additional conference visit funded by the Standard Allowance, include a brief rationale explaining the career benefits.
