Mothers doing a doctorate face special challenges – from care work to academic work to structural hurdles. But they also have their own strengths and resources. In this talk, Majana Beckmann, author of Promovieren mit Kind (PhD with Children), will shed light on the tools mothers can use to remain able to act despite all the structural obstacles and to give their doctorate the space it needs – even when things get tight.

The focus is on everyday strategies and strengthening perspectives, e.g:

  • How can my doctorate remain present in everyday family life?
  • How can I arrange undisturbed writing time?
  • What conversations are helpful right now in my partnership?
  • What inner attitude supports me in the balancing act between PhD and family?

The lecture is aimed at all mothers in academia who are looking for orientation, exchange, and new impulses for their own path. If you are interested in attending, please contact the organisers at mail@mutterschaft-wissenschaft.de.
