Fifty years ago, the first of seven Berlin Summer Universities for Women took place at the Freie Universität Berlin. These landmark events united researchers, students and actors from the autonomous women’s movement and played a significant role in the institutionalisation of women’s and gender studies in Berlin and beyond.
This anniversary event is part of the MvBZ Jubilee 2026, marking 45 years of the Zentraleinrichtung and 10 years of the MvBZ. It is prepared and hosted by students and teaching staff of the seminar “Marxismus & Feminismus revisited” at the Otto-Suhr-Institut.
