In the next year, there will be a large number of professorships opening up at universities of applied science (Hochschulen für angewandte Wissenschaften) in Berlin and Germany more widely. Female researchers will have a good chance of getting a position. Susanne Plaumann (Beuth Hochschule) and Prof. Dr. Juliane Siegeris (HTW Berlin) are very familiar with the requirements due to their respective positions as Central Women’s Representative and as a professor of computer science at two of Berlin’s institutions. They will provide information based on each of their unique perspectives, on topics such as the framework for professorships and the necessary formal and professional skills. Participants can also ask questions on the topic of becoming a professor.
