The use of gender-appropriate language can overcome stereotypical role models and reduce discrimination. Diversity and openness are also expressed in the language of a person or organisation – but how do you communicate in such a way that all genders feel addressed and texts still remain understandable and readable?
Dozent/-innen, DozentInnen oder Dozierende? Colon, gender asterisk or underscore? And how is it all pronounced? In this lecture, you will learn why gender-sensitive language is important and get an overview of common language practice using numerous practical examples.
