Applications are now open for financing from both Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin’s Equal Opportunities Fund and the Berlin Program for the Promotion of Equal Opportunities for Women in Research and Teaching.

The funds aim at overcoming structural obstacles in the establishment of equal opportunities, increasing the quota of women in leading positions, embedding Women’s and Gender Studies even further in the research programme, integrating gender aspects into teaching, increasing the quota of women among junior researchers, and preparing an application for third-party funding.

These are the individual funding initiatives and links to further information on how to apply:

Final scholarship doctorate:
For the final phase of your doctorate, you can apply for a Caroline von Humboldt Final Fellowship for a maximum of six months within the framework of the Excellence Strategy or from the Equal Opportunities Fund.

Final scholarship for female habilitation students:
You can receive a scholarship for six months to complete your habilitation. The grant amounts to € 1,500 per month, plus a child supplement of € 400 for the 1st child and € 100 for each additional child.

Postdoc Pool:
As part of the Berlin Program for the Promotion of Equal Opportunities for Women in Research and Teaching, positions are awarded from the Postdoctoral Researcher Pool (PDP).

Additional endowment of a W1, W2, or W3 professor with a student assistant:
The Equal Opportunity Fund also finances positions for student assistants. The aim is to relieve the burden on female professors who are heavily involved in committee work.

Visiting professorship and guest lectureship:
A visiting professorship is used to promote excellent young female scientists, especially in the STEM fields and in gender studies.
