The initiative “Young Women in the Theoretical Sciences” at Bielefeld University is organising an online film screening and discussion of the documentary “An Insight – Women in Science” (2019) by Agnes Handwerk and Harrie Willems.
The first part of the film portrays three professors of mathematics: Karin Baur, Sylvie Paycha and Carola-Bibiane Schönlieb, who give insight into their experiences in academic careers and their efforts for gender equality. In the second part, we get to know the organisers of the I, Scientist Conference in Berlin 2018, who share their experiences from the perspective of female early career researchers. Film duration: 40min.
In the subsequent online discussion, you will have the opportunity to talk to Prof. Karin Baur and the filmmaker Agnes Handwerk, as well as to get to know the other participants of the event.
