Further information
You might know the feeling: You open up the newspaper or check your social media and you’re faced with shocking statements about your identity or living situation. In the best case it’s just confusing or amusing, but often it’s hurtful and alienating.
So how to write in a non-discriminatory way? In this workshop we pursue the question of what it means for language to be discrimination sensitive, inclusive, and respectful. Using examples, participants will also deal with practical aspects of non-discriminatory writing. Questions such as the following will get answered: What needs to be taken into consideration as early as the research phase? Which expressions and notations can be used, and which cannot? And how can one still produce an easily understandable, well-written text in light of all of this?
This workshop is aimed at anyone who writes, whether it’s for your own blog, for your job, or for university.
