The corona pandemic poses a variety of challenges for scientists – scientific excellence under unusual stress and difficult working conditions, fitting in research between daycare closures and homeschooling, postponed research and study abroad, delayed data collection and research processes in tight schedules, the impeded access to networks and the limited personal exchange at conferences. This also includes the question of possible consequences for equal opportunities in science and possible consequences for equality in research.

The digital event series “Weeks of Equal Opportunities in Research Groups” therefore focuses this year on equal opportunities during and after the corona pandemic. To kick off the series, Prof. Dr. Jutta Allmendinger will give a lecture on the effects of the pandemic on the scientific landscape and the personal situation of scientists.
