Interview Series: Women in STEM
STEM fields continue to be dominated by men. Among the manifold reasons for this are the role of gender stereotyping and limited access to female role models in these fields. If female pupils and students can’t imagine themselves as a researcher working in computer science, it is less likely that they will pursue that path.
This series of video and text interviews published by the “Komm mach MINT” initiative aims to display the diversity of people pursuing STEM subjects and the large variety of study and career paths available. Women in STEM talk about how they got to where they are today, the reactions they faced to their decision to study or work in STEM, their everyday experiences, and advice that they have for female pupils or students considering a similar path.
