The closing workshop of the BMBF project GenderNetz (“Gender bias in the career paths of women in engineering and IT due to informal mentorships and networks”) will discuss how the results of the project can be used to increase gender equality in academia. How can the career paths and work conditions of doctoral graduates be shaped in fair and equal way? And what potentials for change at institutions of higher education, research institutes, and companies can be identified based on the results from interview evaluations in the project? The concept behind this digital workshop brings together impulse lectures, a keynote, and participatory format and gives all participants the chance to play an active part and come into contact with each other.

The GenderNetz project is funded by the BMBF and addresses questions such as the following: What is the relationship between informal networks and research careers in engineering and IT? How are networks formed? How can the potential of networks be used in order to advance one’s career? Are there gender disparities with regard to these questions?
