This conference will address topics surrounding gender and leadership in academia. After the event is opened by Minister Björn Thümler, Dr. Anke Burkhardt will present a study on the gender pay gap for salaries on the W level. The study was conducted by the HoF Halle-Wittenberg and focusses on quantitative and qualitative aspects of the allocation process. Afterwards, Dr. Beate Kortendiek will speak about the gender pay gap and the experiences of professors (Gender Report NRW).
Themes surrounding the participation of women in institutions and committees will also be touched on. Dr. Andrea Löther (CEWS) will present the results of the GWK evaluation regarding gender-fairness and the filling of decision-making committees. This will be followed by input from Dr. Eva Reichwein (DFG) on the research-oriented equal opportunities standards and the current process for implementing them.
A fishbowl discussion on perspectives surrounding a quality-guaranteeing and gender-fair distribution of resources in academia will top off the day.
