Time and Self Management
The world of research and academia is filled with deadlines, limited-term projects, development of new projects, meetings, teaching, participation in conferences, publications, and other obligations. Academia is a place of both time pressure and high standards for performance.
This workshop supports participants in conscious time management. Participants will receive tips on how to set priorities and structure tasks. They will have the opportunity to reflect on and rethink their strategies for dealing with stress and the way they use their time, both through input from the trainer and through group work.
Some topics that will be covered include types of time and appropriate methods; analysing time and activities; goals and priority grids; daily planning and the ALPEN method; individual strategies for dealing with stressful situations.
