The corona pandemic has turned our lives upside down. It quickly became clear that women are disproportionately affected by the negative consequences of the crisis. Furthermore, the situation also came with disadvantages that aren’t always obvious but nonetheless can have lasting effects.

This event aims to make these effects visible and open up a discussion about them, with a special focus on the field of research and academia. What effect does corona have on equal opportunities in academia?

These questions will be discussed in a conversation between Prof. Dr. Angela Ittel (Vice President for Strategic Development, Junior Scholars, and Teacher Education TU Berlin), Dr. Mareike Bünning (Sociologist at Berlin Social Science Center), and Dr. Christine Kurmeyer (Central Women’s and Equal Opportunities Officer of Charité Berlin and Chairwoman of Landesfrauenrat Berlin). The event will be moderated by journalist and sociologist Dr. Carolin Wiedemann.
